Heres the unvarnished truth of where we are today which began in the 1960s. As Americans we have allowed ourselves to become "fodder" for the DC mercenary politicos of both Parties. Government for the people by the people had slid into the murky depths of People Being Governed. Consider: #1: 40 years of failed domestic energy policies brings us to $104 per barrel oil = $3.20+ at the pump and economic "blackmail" by OPEC. #2: 40 years of budget starved key Federal Agencies brings us imported hazardous toys, pharmaceuticals, and foods. #3: 40 years of budget starved key Federal Agencies brings us daily and minute-by-minute danger as we cross decaying bridges. Not to mention hundreds of dams that have been "certified" in acute disrepair. #4: 20 years of a progressively failing air traffic control system #5: Get on a plane? Go through security (which most of us will accept and tolerate) only to be seated on a plane that SHOULD NOT BE FLYING IN THE SKIES and FAA fails to enforce Southwest Airline to ground potentially UNSAFE aircraft. HOW MANY OTHER AIRLINES ARE WE RISKING OUR LIVES ON? #6: 30-years of "educational reform" which brings us into a situation where 40% of "graduating" HIgh Schoolers are barely literate. #7: 40-years of exporting American jobs to third world countries. #8: International Trade Policies which favor the foreign seller and disfavor the American manufacturer = Boeing loses out to Airbus Europe for a new fleet of air tankers for the USAF. #9: 2008 General Election and what are our options: REPUBLICAN = GOOD OLE BOY...
